We read Google’s first page for “home care temple tx” on 13 August 2026 — two query variants, off the live results. What we found is the clearest picture of the franchise wall we’ve seen in the markets we’ve mapped.
What does page one for home care in Temple look like?
HomeWell Care Services. Visiting Angels. Right at Home. Care.com. Interim HealthCare. Amedisys. Home Instead. Amazing Care. The Caregiving Company. That’s the page — franchise networks, national home health brands, one directory claiming “7 home care agencies in Temple,” and one multi-location Texas brand’s location page.
The number of independent Temple agencies ranking on their own website: zero.
One methodological note, stated plainly because it matters: our scan was made from outside Temple, and Google served these organic results with no map pack at all. Packs are assembled from the searcher’s location — a family searching in Temple may well see one. What we can claim, dated, is the organic page; and the organic page belongs entirely to the franchises.
Why the wall exists
Nothing sinister — arithmetic. A franchise network runs one authoritative domain with hundreds of location pages and a corporate SEO team; a directory aggregates enough listings to rank in every city it’s heard of. An independent agency’s five-page website is competing in organic against that machinery. In Temple, the machinery has won the whole page.
Where the wall has a gap
The map pack is assembled differently: from each agency’s own Google Business Profile — its proximity to the searching family, its categories, its reviews, its completeness. There is no corporate team that can centralize that; a franchise location’s profile is only as good as that location’s habits. An independent with an accurate, complete profile, steady reviews from local families, and a website that plainly names its towns and services is competing on even terms there — arguably better ones, since the families and the reviews are genuinely local.
For a Temple independent, that’s the strategy in one sentence: the organic page is rented to the franchises; the profile surface is still open. Covering Belton on the same profile is its own question.
The short version
Temple’s page one for home care, 13 August 2026: franchises and directories, no independents. The pack — built from profiles, not domains — is where a local agency competes.
