Ask three companies what med spa SEO costs and you’ll get three hundred a month, twelve hundred a month, and five thousand a month — for work that sounds identical on the call.
The range isn’t because one is a rip-off and one is a bargain, though sometimes it is. It’s because almost nobody is quoting the same thing, and the vague ones are vague deliberately.
Why is the range so wide?
Three real reasons and one bad one.
Scope genuinely varies. “SEO” can mean someone posting to your Google profile four times a month, or it can mean profile management plus new pages on your site plus citations plus review handling. Those are different jobs.
Med spa is regulated. Copy has to stay clear of outcome and medical claims, before-and-after use is governed by your state board, and a provider who doesn’t know that can create a compliance problem instead of a slow month. Providers who build in proper review price for it.
The vertical is competitive. More work is required to move in a crowded market than a quiet one.
And the bad reason: vague quotes are easier to sell and impossible to hold anyone to. “Ongoing optimization” cannot be audited. That’s a feature, for them.
What should a quote actually name?
Numbers. If a line item doesn’t have a count attached, you can’t tell whether you got it:
- Profile management — how many posts per month, who replies to reviews, who updates services and hours
- Pages or articles — how many per month, on whose website
- Citations and directories — how many listings, managed or just built once
- Reviews — request system, reply handling, or neither
- Reporting — what you receive and how often
Compare “we’ll improve your online presence” to “profile managed, four posts a month, every review replied to, one monthly report.” Only one of those can be checked. (The tells of a bad provider, in more detail.)
What can’t be promised?
A ranking. Nobody can guarantee a position, and Google says so on its own page about SEO providers. A guarantee of first place is either a misunderstanding or a lie, and in a regulated vertical it’s a signal to walk.
What can be guaranteed is the work — the pages written, the profile managed, the reviews answered, the citations maintained. Guarantee the deliverable, never the outcome. Any provider unwilling to put the deliverables in writing is telling you something.
Is cheap always bad?
No, but cheap plus vague usually is. A few hundred a month can be legitimate if it’s genuinely scoped small — profile management only, clearly stated. The problem is a few hundred a month sold as full-service, which resolves as automated posts and nothing else.
The other cost of cheap in this vertical is compliance. Someone writing your copy at scale, without medical review, will eventually publish an outcome claim on a page with your name on it.
What should you own at the end?
Everything. Your profile, your website, your pages, your reviews, your content. If leaving means losing the work you paid for, you were renting.
Ask directly: what do I keep if I cancel? The answer sorts providers faster than any other question. (The same logic applies across wellness.)
What does it actually cost?
Honestly, it depends on scope, market and how much of the work is already done. Our own pricing is public rather than quoted per call, because a number you can see beats a number you have to sit through a pitch for — see what this would cost and the general local SEO cost breakdown.
Med spa SEO pricing checklist
- Every deliverable has a number attached
- Nobody guarantees a ranking
- Medical and outcome claims explicitly handled
- You own the profile, site, pages and content
- Reporting is specified, not implied
- Cancellation terms stated in writing
The honest shortcut
If you’d rather read the scope than negotiate it, ours is published. Get Found is one plan: your website built and hosted, your Google Business Profile managed, four posts a month, every review replied to within one business day, and one plain-English report. Citations, a rank map, more posts, articles and social are quoted on top. Online booking and review requests after every visit return to the card when the new platform ships.
Pages and articles on your own site are quoted separately, never bundled into a plan — writing costs real hours, and a monthly that pretends otherwise ends up doing neither job properly. Deliverables-or-free on every plan.
